Role Overview: Deliver Enterprise-Scale Impact in Reinsurance Technology
Pines is seeking an accomplished IT Project Manager for a critical 6-month contract with a premier client in the reinsurance sector. This role is designed for a strategic leader who can drive multiple, concurrent technology initiatives in a complex, enterprise-scale environment.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, a strong technical understanding of software development and data management, and a proven ability to deliver results within the fast-paced insurance/reinsurance industry.
Key Responsibilities:
End-to-End Project Leadership: Manage the full project lifecycle for multiple initiatives, from planning and scoping to execution and delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
Stakeholder & Communication Management: Serve as the central point of contact, providing clear, consistent updates to business owners and senior leadership to manage expectations and ensure strategic alignment.
Cross-Functional Team Coordination: Lead and motivate distributed teams of analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders, fostering collaboration and accountability across all workstreams.
Risk & Financial Oversight: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and control scope changes with disciplined documentation.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements, conducting post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
10+ years of IT Project Management experience, with a proven track record within the insurance or reinsurance industry.
Demonstrated success delivering large-scale, data-focused projects in a global, matrixed environment.
Proficiency in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with hands-on experience using Jira or Azure DevOps.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, data management principles, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure).
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
PMP, CSM, or similar certifications are highly preferred.
